Add okra and stir well to coat with the tomato mixture.
Pour in vegetable broth and add bay leaves; bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat and cover; cook for 20-25 minutes until okra is tender.
Stir in chickpeas and lemon juice; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
