Slice the peaches and neatly arrange them on the bottom of your baking dish.
To make the caramel: Add the sugar and water to a small pan. Cook over medium heat without stirring. You may gently swirl the pan to help the sugar melt evenly, but do not stir with a spoon. The sugar will first melt, then begin to caramelize. Once it turns a light golden color, immediately remove it from the heat – it will continue cooking from residual heat. Pour the caramel over the peaches.
Prepare the batter: Beat the eggs with sugar. Add the yogurt and oil, then mix well. Add the salt, flour, and baking powder, and mix until smooth.
Assemble and bake: Pour the batter over the peaches and caramel. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40–45 minutes. Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
After baking, let the cake cool slightly, then carefully invert it onto a serving plate.
