This dish embodies the Italian tradition of transforming simple ingredients into a comforting meal, often served with pasta or a salad. Today, Chicken Parmesan is a beloved staple in Italian-American cuisine, enjoyed in homes and restaurants alike, with variations that include different cheeses and sauces.

Place the chicken breasts in a bag and pound them to about half an inch thick.
Add a little olive oil to the bag, seal it, and spread it around.
Crack one whole egg onto a plate and whisk it together.
Add a little heavy cream to the egg and mix until homogeneous.
Sift all-purpose flour onto a plate to avoid clumps.
Place breadcrumbs on a plate and add a generous amount of Parmesan cheese, mixing it in.
Season the flour with pepper and a pinch of salt, mixing it together.
Dredge the chicken in the flour, then dip it in the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
Set the breaded chicken aside for a minute to let it come together.
Heat vegetable oil in a medium to high heat pan.
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts; if it doesn't sizzle, the oil isn't hot enough.
Fry the chicken for a few minutes until the sides are golden brown, then flip it over.
Baste the chicken with oil for even crispiness.
Once both sides are crispy, set the chicken aside.
Top the chicken with more Parmesan cheese and slices of mozzarella cheese.
Drizzle a little olive oil on top and add more Parmesan cheese.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bake the chicken for about 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese starts to melt.
Switch the oven to broil on high to brown the cheese, watching it carefully to avoid burning.
Boil angel hair pasta according to package instructions.
Plate the pasta, lay the chicken parm on top, and spoon over tomato sauce.
Garnish with parsley and more Parmesan cheese.
