Buy a firm avocado and let it ripen on the counter for 2-3 days, testing daily for ripeness.

Open the avocado by slicing around it and twisting the halves apart.

Remove the pit by twisting a knife into it and pulling it out.

Slice the avocado flesh and scoop it out with a fork or spoon.

Dress the avocado with a small splash of olive oil, sea salt, pink himalayan salt, fresh pepper, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Mash the avocado to a spreadable consistency with a fork.
