Tempura Fried Ribs

Cultural Context

Tempura, a dish that originated in Japan, is known for its light and crispy batter, traditionally used for vegetables and seafood. The technique was influenced by Portuguese missionaries in the 16th century. Today, tempura has evolved to include various proteins, including pork ribs, and is enjoyed worldwide, often served as a side or appetizer.

Remove the membrane from the ribs using a rib prep tool.

Place the ribs on the lower rack of the grill for roasting, flipping them every 15 to 20 minutes for about 2 hours.

Check the ribs for a roasted color after 2 hours of cooking.

6

Prepare for the braising process by cutting the ribs into sections.
