It reflects the island's rich culinary heritage, combining influences from African, European, and Caribbean cuisines. Today, it is a beloved treat in many Caribbean households and is often served with cheese or enjoyed on its own as a delightful snack.

milk

Warm milk and melt butter.
Add ingredients in stages: yeast, warmed milk, flour, sugar, salt, then butter.
Mix on Speed 2 for around 8 mins, check for dough development then increase speed to 6 and watch that baby work.
Add spices gradually, add raisins.
Once your dough has developed, ball up, and rest for 30 mins.
Knead and give your dough a final shaping before proofing.
Proof for another 30 mins, in a warm place before baking.
Enjoy your bun!
