Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Instructions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.
  2. 2Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. 3In another bowl, mix the ground pork, green onions, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and ginger until well combined.
  4. 4Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut it into 3-inch squares.
  5. 5Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each square. Brush the edges with beaten egg.
  6. 6Fold the square over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal. You can also bring the two corners together to form a wonton shape.
  7. 7Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop the wontons into the boiling water in batches.
  8. 8Cook the wontons for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
  9. 9Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain.
  10. 10Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
