Once the butter is melted, add 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, and a few pinches of salt.

Cover the pot and shake it to distribute the heat evenly.

Listen for the popping sounds; when the pops slow to 3-4 seconds apart, it's mostly done.
