Grate the bottle gourd and set aside to drain excess water for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
Add the grated bottle gourd to the yogurt and mix well.
Toast cumin seeds in a dry pan until fragrant, about 2 minutes, then crush them coarsely.
Add the crushed cumin, salt, and black pepper to the mixture and stir.
Finely chop green chili, fresh coriander, and mint leaves, then fold them into the raita.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Chill the raita in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serve the Lauki ka Raita as a side dish with rice or flatbreads.
