Prepare the batter for chocolate sponge cake by taking 0.5 cup all-purpose flour in a bowl.
Add 0.5 cup cocoa powder and 0.5 teaspoon baking powder to the flour and mix well.
Sift the dry ingredients together and set aside.
In another bowl, take 1 cup powdered sugar and preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Add 4 eggs to the sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, then beat the mixture.
Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the egg mixture and continue beating.
Gradually fold in the previously sifted dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.
Pour the batter into a mold and place it in the preheated oven to bake for 35 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.
While the cake is baking, prepare the orange curd by extracting juice from 1 orange, aiming for 0.5 cup juice.
Separate the egg yolks from 4 eggs and place them in a saucepan.
Add the previously extracted orange juice and 1 tablespoon sugar to the egg yolks and mix well.
Incorporate 0.5 cup sugar into the egg yolk mixture and mix thoroughly.
Add the previously prepared orange juice to the mixture and mix well, then add vanilla essence.
Cook the mixture on low flame, stirring continuously until it thickens, then remove from heat and add some orange zest.
Allow the orange curd to cool down.
Slice the baked cake into layers and dry them in the oven.
Prepare the chocolate ganache by heating 1 cup fresh cream in a saucepan until warm.
Add 2.5 bars of chocolate and 1.5 tablespoons of butter to the warm cream and mix until smooth, then remove from heat.
Layer the cake with the orange curd and chocolate ganache, repeating the process for each layer.
Frost the top of the cake with the ganache and decorate with dried orange slices.
