Heat butter, milk, sugar, and salt on the stove until warm.
Mix flour and yeast together in a large bowl.
Once the liquid mixture is warm, mix in 2 large egg yolks.
Combine the liquid mixture with the flour mixture and mix for about 5 minutes.
Grease a large bowl with butter and place the dough inside, covering it to rise for about 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Prepare the filling by mixing ground walnuts, chopped raisins, 2 beaten egg whites, 3 tablespoons of honey, and 3 tablespoons of milk until uniform.
Flour the surface and roll out the dough to about 18 inches by 20 inches.
Spread the walnut and raisin filling evenly over the dough in small dollops.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and trim the ends.
Place the rolled dough into a greased springform pan, shaping it into a crescent moon if necessary.
Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let it sit for an hour to rise again.
Preheat the oven and bake the potica until golden brown (exact time not specified).
Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
