2

Add 1 cup of cold, cubed butter and process until crumbly.

3

Add 5-7 tablespoons of cold water and process until the dough forms.

4

Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

5

Boil 2 medium potatoes until soft, then mash and set aside.

6

Mix together 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard, 1 teaspoon thyme, salt, and black pepper to taste.

7

In a skillet, heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and sauté 1 large chopped onion, 2 chopped celery stalks, and 2-3 minced garlic cloves for 4-5 minutes until translucent.

8

Add 2 pounds of ground meat and cook for 4-5 minutes until no longer pink.

9

Stir in the spice mixture and mix well.

10

Pour in 1 1/4 cups of beef broth and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

11

Add the mashed potatoes to the meat mixture and stir until well combined.

12

Remove from heat and let cool.

13

Divide the dough into two parts and roll out one part to fit into a pie dish, pressing the edges.
