Cut the small pineapple into cubes and place it in a saucepan.
Add 1 cup of sugar to the pineapple in the saucepan.
Cook the pineapple over low heat until the sugar melts and caramelizes, about 20 minutes.
In another saucepan, add 2 egg yolks and strain them to remove the film for a smoother cream.
Mix in 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and 1 can of heavy cream, stirring well.
Dissolve 3 tablespoons of cornstarch in a little milk, then add it to the mixture.
Pour in 1 liter of milk and mix well.
Cook the mixture over medium heat until it thickens, stirring continuously to avoid lumps, about 5 minutes after it starts boiling.
Remove from heat and let it cool to avoid lumps forming.
Add the cooked pineapple mixture to the cream mixture, reserving some pineapple for topping later.
Layer the bottom of a serving dish with a layer of the cream mixture, followed by a layer of ladyfingers, then repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream.
Let the pavê cool and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Top the pavê with meringue or whipped cream, and decorate with reserved pineapple or coconut as desired.
