Knead the dough by hand until it stops sticking, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Let the dough rest for about 1 hour, or up to 2 hours if needed, in a draft-free place like a microwave.
Flour the table and continue kneading the dough.
Divide the dough into smaller pieces for easier handling.
Shape the donuts by rolling the dough and tying the ends together.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot and check the temperature by adding small pieces of dough; they should brown quickly.
Use tongs or a slotted spoon to carefully add the shaped donuts to the hot oil.
Fry the donuts until golden brown, then remove them from the oil.
Dust the warm donuts with sugar using a sugar bag.
