Apple Cinnamon Rolls
In a mixing bowl, add 1 tablespoon dry yeast and 1-2 tablespoons sugar.
Pour in warm water and mix well. Let it sit covered for about 7 to 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, add 2 cups all-purpose flour (measured with a 250 ml cup) and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well.
Gradually add warm milk while mixing to form a soft dough. Do not knead with hands yet.
Transfer the mixture to the kitchen counter, greasing the surface lightly with butter (30 grams of soft butter).
Knead the dough for about 5-6 minutes until it is smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
While the dough is resting, prepare the filling by mixing 2-4 tablespoons brown sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder in a bowl.
Peel and wash 2 apples, then chop them into small pieces just before using them to prevent discoloration.
After about 1.5 hours, dust the counter with flour and divide the dough into two parts.
Flatten one part of the dough with your hands, then roll it out thinly using a rolling pin.
Spread melted butter over the rolled dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.
Evenly distribute the chopped apples over the filling, then roll the dough tightly.
Cut the rolled dough into equal pieces and place them in a greased baking tray.
Cover the rolls and let them rise for another hour until they double in size.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes, then increase the temperature to 230 degrees Celsius for an additional 5-7 minutes.
Once baked, brush the rolls with a mixture of cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter while they are still warm.
