Take ripe bananas from the freezer and squish them into a bowl.
Mash the bananas with a whisk until they are combined.
Add in 2 eggs, 1/2 cup applesauce, 1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt, 1 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and whisk until combined.
Add in dry ingredients: 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and mix until just combined.
Switch to a spatula and fold in chocolate chips.
Spread the batter into a greased loaf pan and optionally sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top.
Bake in the oven until done.
