Grease all baking pans with butter.
Cream butter and brown sugar together, then add vanilla essence and eggs.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and all spice, then fold into the creamed mixture.
Add browning if accessible to give the desired color, stir well.
Pour the mixture into the greased pan and bake in a preheated oven at 250°F for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, reduce the oven temperature to 200°F-225°F for the remaining 1.5 hours.
