Welcome to the recipe for a low calorie French apple tart.
Start by making the pie crust using 2 cups of flour.
Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the flour (optional for sweetness).

Pour in about 3/4 cup of warm or cold water.
Add 3 tablespoons of canola or flavorless oil to the mixture.
Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon until a pliable dough forms.
If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour until the right consistency is achieved.
Switch to using your hands to knead the dough and check for stickiness.
Dust your surface with extra flour to prevent sticking while shaping the dough.
Take about a quarter of the dough to make individual tarts, wrapping the rest in saran wrap and freezing it for later use.
Mold the dough by hand into a round shape, similar to making pizza.
Place the shaped dough on a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Core and slice the apple thinly, aiming for as many slices as possible.
Layer the thin apple slices around the crust, ensuring the dough is not visible underneath.
Fold the edges of the crust up slightly to hold in the apple filling and reduce moisture oozing.
Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of honey over the apple slices for sweetness.
Sprinkle cinnamon over the apples to taste, being careful not to overpower the flavor.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes, watching for the edges to turn golden brown.
Prepare smaller tartlets using the same method if desired, and finish with a little apricot jam for added flavor.
