In a small bowl, add 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar, and 4 teaspoons sugar.
Whisk the dressing ingredients together until well combined.
Dice 1/4 cup of red onion into tiny pieces.
Chop about 1/2 cup of toasted pecans.
Slice a block of Darigold medium cheddar into cubes, about half an inch thick.
In a large bowl, add 5 cups of broccoli florets.
Add the cubed cheddar, 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, the chopped pecans, the diced onion, 1/3 cup of crumbled bacon, and 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds to the bowl with broccoli.
Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss all the ingredients together until well combined.
Toast the pecans to enhance their nutty flavor before adding them to the salad.
