1

Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.

2

Add 1/2 chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

3

Add 1 whole green scallion and 3 minced garlic cloves; sauté until fragrant.

4

Add ground beef to the skillet and break it up with a wooden spoon, cooking until browned.

5

Mix together 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon black pepper, and 1/2 tablespoon salt; add to the beef mixture.

6

Add 1/2 can of tomato sauce and 1/2 can of Rotel; stir to combine.

7

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes; stir well.

8

Add 1 package of sazon to the mixture and let it cook down until fully combined.

9

Strain excess grease from the beef mixture using a spoon.

10

Roll out pie crust on parchment paper to avoid sticking.

11

Use a round cutter to cut out circles from the pie crust.

12

Fill each circle with the beef mixture and taco blend cheese, then wet the edges with water to seal.

13

Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal tightly.

14

Heat oil in a frying pan and drop the empanadas in to fry until golden brown.
