Garlic-1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Cumin powder-1/2 - 1 teaspoon
Paprika/ chilli powder-1 teaspoon
Pepper powder-1/2 teaspoon
Olive oil-2 tablespoon
Water-1/2 cup
Lemon juice-1 teaspoon
Olive oil (for topping)
Tomatoes (for topping)
Green chillies (for topping)
Parsley leaves (for topping)

Drain the fava beans.

Heat a pan and add olive oil.

Sauté the onion until soft and add the garlic.

Add the spices and sauté over low heat for 1 minute.

Add the tomatoes and cook over medium heat for 1 - 2 minutes.

Add the fava beans, salt and water.

Cover and cook over medium low heat for 8-10 minutes.

Open the lid and mash the beans lightly.

Add the lemon juice and mix until combined.

Top with olive oil, tomatoes, green chillies, parsley leaves.

Serve hot with pita bread.
