8-10 pieces Kurut (dry yogurt balls)
2-3 cups Warm water
Salt
4-5 pieces Fatir (Tajik crispy pita)
2 large Onions
½ cup Vegetable oil or clarified butter
2 large Tomatoes
2 medium Cucumbers
1 bunch Fresh herbs (Coriander, parsley, dill, or a combination)
1-2 Green chili peppers (optional)
1-2 Bell peppers (optional)

Dissolve the Kurut in warm water, adding salt to taste.

In a pan, heat the vegetable oil or clarified butter and fry the sliced onions until golden brown.

Prepare the topping by chopping the tomatoes, cucumbers, and fresh herbs, and optionally the green and bell peppers.

In a large wooden bowl (lagan), layer the dissolved Kurut mixture, followed by the pita, and top with the fried onions and fresh vegetables.
