Instructions

  1. 1Prepare filling by finely chopping cabbage, carrots, and green onions.
  2. 2Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  3. 3Add ground pork to the pan, cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4Stir in cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper; cook until vegetables are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. 5Remove filling from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. 6Lay a spring roll wrapper on a clean surface, with a corner facing you.
  7. 7Place a spoonful of filling near the corner of the wrapper.
  8. 8Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly to seal.
  9. 9Beat an egg in a small bowl and brush the edge of the wrapper to seal.
  10. 10Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  11. 11Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  12. 12Fry spring rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Fresh spring rolls, also known as 'gỏi cuốn' in Vietnamese, are a popular dish in Vietnam, often enjoyed as a light meal or appetizer.

  • 8 rice paper wrappers
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, halved
  • 1 cup vermicelli noodles, cooked
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves, shredded

  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare all the ingredients by cooking the shrimp and vermicelli noodles, and chopping the vegetables.
  2. 2Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds until it softens.
  3. 3Lay the softened rice paper on a clean surface or cutting board.
  4. 4In the center of the rice paper, place a few shrimp halves, a small amount of vermicelli noodles, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, mint, and cilantro.
  5. 5Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll it tightly from the bottom to the top to form a spring roll.
  6. 6Repeat the process with the remaining rice paper wrappers and filling ingredients.
  7. 7Serve the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce for dipping.
