Add black beans, kidney beans, and pinto beans to a pot.

Pour in 2 cups of water and let the beans simmer.

Add a little bit of butter and a splash of olive oil to the pot.

Chop and add 1 clove of garlic, some onions, and a few bay leaves to the beans.

Measure 1 cup of rice and add it to the pot with the beans.

Chop and add about half of a bell pepper to the rice mixture.

Add 1 cup of water for the rice and cover the pot.

Bring the rice to a boil, then reduce the temperature to cook slowly for 20 to 25 minutes.

Sear the tuna steak in olive oil until browned, then remove it from the pot.

Sauté onions and tomatoes in the same pot to create a sauce.

Return the seared tuna to the pot and let it cook with the sauce for a bit to absorb the flavors.
