Add the frothy yeast mixture, coconut milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; stir until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a bun and place them in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper.
Let the buns rise for another 30 minutes.
Steam the buns over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
Remove from the steamer and let cool slightly before serving.
