Olive oil adds flavor while sunflower oil is more economical.
Clean and prepare the whole chicken, removing any excess fat.
Marinate the chicken with garlic, onions, lemon juice, vegetable oil, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
Cover the chicken and let it marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Place the marinated chicken on the grill, breast side down.
Grill the chicken for 15-20 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
Flip the chicken and grill for another 15-20 minutes, basting with leftover marinade.
Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
