Place a pan over low flame and add cooking oil to shallow fry the smokies.
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the smokies into the cooking oil.
Chop the tomatoes and onions while the smokies are cooking.
Use half an onion for two tomatoes, chop the onion into little pieces.
Remove the pit from the tomatoes and cut them into strips and dice.
Flip the smokies to cook on the other side until they have a lovely color.
Transfer the cooked smokies to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Mix chopped tomatoes and onions in a bowl, adding salt to season the kachumbari.
Optionally add chili for spiciness to the kachumbari.
Slit the smokies in the middle without cutting all the way through.
Scoop out the kachumbari and place it into the slit of the smokies.
Serve the smokie pasua on a plate, optionally topping with ketchup or choma sauce.
