1

Add 180g of water, 1 tbsp of sugar, and 3/4 tsp of instant yeast in a bowl and let it sit.

2

Slowly pour the yeast mixture into 350g of all-purpose flour while stirring with chopsticks.

3

Gather the flour together with your hands until a rough dough forms.

4

Add 2 tsp of vegetable oil and knead it into the dough until smooth.

5

Cover the dough and let it proof for 1.5 hours.

6

Prepare the filling by baking toasted peanuts in a 350℉ oven for 12 minutes and then blending them with sesame seeds, 140g of white sugar, and 4 tsp of all-purpose flour.

7

Check the dough; if it has doubled in size, punch it down and knead for 6 minutes.

8

Divide the dough into 10 pieces, each about 50-55g, and roll them into balls.

9

Let the balls rest for 10 minutes under plastic wrap.

10

Roll each ball into a 5-inch diameter wrapper, thicker in the middle and thinner at the edges.

11

Place about 2 tbsp of the sugar nut filling in the center, pinch the edges to seal, and twist to close.

12

Place the bun in the steamer on parchment paper, leaving space between them, and let proof for 30 minutes.

13

Fill the pot with room-temperature water, turn the heat to high, and place the steamer on top.

14

Once steam appears, reduce heat to medium-low and steam for 10 minutes.

15

Turn off the heat and let the buns sit for 5 minutes before opening the lid.
