1

Gather the ingredients: 3 slices of thick bread (sourdough or French preferred), 1 can of baked beans, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 4 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese, 2-3 pieces of bacon cut into small pieces, 3 tablespoons of butter, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of dried parsley flakes.

2

Heat a skillet to medium heat and add the bacon. Cook until semi-crunchy, then drain the fat and return the bacon to the pan.

3

Add the baked beans to the bacon in the skillet and simmer over medium heat. Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and continue to simmer until the sauce is significantly reduced to almost a dry consistency. Remove the beans from the pan and let cool.

4

In a microwave-safe bowl, place 3 tablespoons of butter and sprinkle with parsley flakes. Microwave for about 5 seconds until melted.

5

Using a toaster, slightly toast the bread slices. Brush both sides of the toasted bread with the melted butter and parsley mixture.

6

On one slice of bread, place a slice of cheddar cheese, then add some of the baked beans. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the beans, then place another slice of bread on top.

7

Add the remaining slice of cheddar cheese, the rest of the baked beans, and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese. Top with the last slice of bread and press the sandwich to give it structure.

8

Heat the skillet to low heat and add the remaining parsley butter mixture. Pan-fry both sides of the sandwich, carefully flipping with kitchen tongs or a spatula, until light golden brown and the cheese is slightly melted.
