Broiled Salmon

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp minced garlic
1 lemon (sliced)
1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
1 tbsp dill weed

Take salmon out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.

Choose salmon that is thick and has a nice color, ideally around 2 inches wide for a serving of 6 ounces.

Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heating element for optimal broiling.

Preheat the oven on broil for about 5 minutes before placing the salmon inside.

Spray a foil-covered pan with olive oil spray.

Place the salmon fillets on the pan, all in the same direction.

Drizzle olive oil over the top of each salmon filet.

Sprinkle minced garlic (1 to 2 cloves) on top of the salmon and rub it in with the oil.

Sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning on each filet.

Add dill weed on top of the salmon.

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon using a lemon dispenser.

Put the salmon in the oven and broil for 6 to 8 minutes, keeping an eye on it.

Check the salmon after 6 minutes; if it's still too pink, return it to the oven for another minute.

Turn the salmon around for even cooking if needed.

Remove the salmon when it looks beautiful and has some white oozing from it, indicating it's done.

Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before plating.
