Thaw the turkey in the refrigerator for about 3 days for a 12 to 14 lb bird.

Prepare a brining bag and add 1 gallon of water for every cup of brine.

Open the single-use brine packet and add it to the water, mixing until dissolved.

Submerge the turkey breast side down in the brine bag and seal it.

Brine the turkey for 24 hours.

Lift the turkey out of the brine with the legs pointing down to drain excess liquid.
