Place cod fish portions directly into the prepared pan.

Season each cod fish portion with salt and black pepper.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup of softened butter, 2 tablespoons of freshly grated parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard, and the juice from 1 lemon (about 1/4 cup).
