1

Clean and marinate the beef by squeezing lime juice over the meat and setting the halves aside for later use.

2

Use a knife or kitchen shears to cut off any excess fat from the meat.

3

Rinse the beef with cold water about three times.

4

Mix dry spices: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, salt-free blended herbs, and clove powder.

5

Rub the dry spices over the meat and mix well, then set aside.

6

Rinse, peel, and chop the vegetables, removing the top layer off the cabbage.

7

Cook the marinated beef in a pot on medium flame with 1 and 1/2 cups of water for 30 minutes.

8

After 30 minutes, remove the beef from the pot and pour the cooking liquid into a bowl.

9

Add oil to the pot, then add the cooked meat, onions, and garlic, sautéing for about a minute.

10

Add tomato paste and mix, then pour the reserved liquid back into the pot along with one cup of chicken broth.

11

Crumble a Buon cube into the pot and mix.

12

Add the chopped vegetables: cho, cabbage, spinach, eggplant, and carrots (2 carrots shown, more can be added if desired).

13

Cover and cook on medium flame for 45 minutes.

14

After 45 minutes, remove the veggies and place them in a separate bowl.

15

Remove the carrots after 20 minutes to avoid overcooking.

16

Mash the veggies using a pestle or potato masher, then pour back into the pot.

17

Slice the carrots and set aside.

18

Add string beans and cooking margarine to the pot and mix.

19

Taste and adjust seasoning, adding about 1 teaspoon more salt if needed.

20

Add hot pepper and the sliced carrots, mix, cover, and let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
