Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, crumble the pressed tofu into small pieces.
  2. 2Add breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, ginger, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper to the crumbled tofu.
  3. 3Mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  4. 4Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. 5Roll each ball in cornstarch to coat evenly.
  6. 6Heat oil in a pan over medium heat for frying.
  7. 7Once the oil is hot, carefully add the tofu balls to the pan.
  8. 8Fry the balls for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. 9Remove the tofu balls from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  10. 10Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.

  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup coleslaw (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 30 minutes.
  2. 2Once pressed, grate the tofu using a box grater or food processor.
  3. 3In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  4. 4Add the grated tofu to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly golden.
  5. 5Stir in the BBQ sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  6. 6Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is well coated and heated through.
  7. 7Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate skillet or grill.
  8. 8Assemble the buns by placing a generous amount of the BBQ tofu mixture on the bottom half of each bun.
  9. 9Top with coleslaw if desired, and sprinkle with sliced green onions.
  10. 10Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.

Instructions
