Originating from the northern regions of Nigeria, Suya is a popular street food made from skewered and grilled meat, often enjoyed at night markets. Traditionally served with spicy pepper sauce and fresh vegetables, it embodies the vibrant flavors of Nigerian cuisine. Today, Suya has transcended borders, inspiring variations in other West African countries and even beyond, where it's enjoyed at barbecues and gatherings.

Slice the beef into thin strips, ensuring they are thin for easier grilling.
In a mixing bowl, add soya spice, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, beef seasoning powder, and smoked paprika powder. Mix well and set aside.
Cut the beef into smaller pieces for easier insertion onto skewers.
Add vegetable oil to the beef sticks, mixing well without adding extra salt or seasoning cubes.
Insert about four beef sticks onto each skewer, adjusting the number based on skewer length.
Coat the skewers with the spice mix, pressing it onto the beef to ensure it sticks.
Transfer the skewers to an oven rack placed over a parchment-lined tray for easy cleanup.
Brush the skewers with vegetable oil before grilling.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grill the skewers for about 15 minutes on one side.
Flip the skewers and grill for another 15 minutes until cooked through.
For the stovetop method, heat a grill pan and drizzle with vegetable oil.
Place the skewers on the heated grill pan and brush with vegetable oil.
Grill on medium heat for about 10 to 12 minutes on one side, then flip and cover to cook evenly for another 10 to 12 minutes.
Slice red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, and chili pepper for garnish.
