برنج سفید ایرانی را آبکش کنید.
برنج را با 7 پیمانه آب خیس کنید و حداقل 12 ساعت در آب بگذارید.
هل را کوبیده و در آب جوش خیس کنید تا دم بکشد.

وقتی آب به جوش آمد، شعله را کم کنید و بگذارید برنج خوب بپزد.
وقتی برنج مقدار خوبی از آبش را از دست داد، آن را هم بزنید.
هل دم کشیده را از صافی رد کرده و به شله زرد اضافه کنید.
شکر را به مقدار 1.5 برابر برنج اضافه کنید.
زعفران را به مقدار دلخواه اضافه کنید.
در آخر کره را اضافه کنید.
شله زرد را با دارچین، خلال بادام و پسته تزیین کنید.
