Honey is a natural sweetener, while brown sugar is often less expensive.

Break or chop the Ghirardelli chocolate into smaller pieces and place them at the bottom of the crockpot.

Pour 2 cups of whole milk over the chocolate in the crockpot.

Add 2 cups of heavy whipping cream to the mixture.

Measure and add 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder to the crockpot.

Add a pinch of salt to the mixture.

Eyeball and add about half of a can of sweetened condensed milk to the crockpot.

Mix all the ingredients together using a whisk.

Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes to prevent burning.

After cooking, check that the chocolate has melted and the mixture is well combined.

Serve the hot chocolate in mugs, optionally adding more milk or water to thin it out if desired.

Top with homemade whipped cream, Andes mint chips, green sprinkles, and a candy cane.
