Mix flour, salt, mahlab, and cardamom in a large bowl.
Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture to dry ingredients.
Knead dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
Cover dough and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
Punch down dough and divide into portions for braiding.
Shape each portion into a long rope and braid together.
Place braided dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cover and let rise again until puffy, about 30-45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack before serving.
