Originating from Bologna, Italy, Spaghetti Bolognese is a beloved dish that showcases the rich flavors of slow-cooked meat sauce. Traditionally served with tagliatelle, the dish has evolved globally, often paired with spaghetti in many countries. Its comforting nature makes it a family favorite, celebrated for its hearty ingredients and robust taste.

Fresh tomatoes add brightness, while crushed are often cheaper.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan until hot.
Add 500 grams of ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Remove browned beef from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
Add 300 grams of chopped tomatoes and stir, cooking until the tomatoes are well-cooked.
Mix in 2 tablespoons of dehydrated beef stock with a bit of water and add to the pan.
Chop and add 1 scotch bonnet pepper for spice, stirring it in.
Taste the mixture to check for seasoning and adjust as needed.
Cover and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes until everything is cooked properly.
Prepare spaghetti according to package instructions while the sauce simmers.
Serve the Bolognese sauce over the spaghetti with sweet corn and plantain on the side.
