Who needs to make a pecan pie when this pecan pie dump cake is so much better and easier!

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Melt 1 stick of butter in the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish.

Sprinkle 2 cups of pecans evenly over the melted butter without mixing.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Whisk until mixed.

Pour the mixture over the pecans in the casserole dish.

Sprinkle a box of yellow cake mix evenly over the top.

Dot the top with 1 stick of butter cut into pats.

Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before serving.
