Homemade marinades can be more cost-effective and healthier.

1

Prepare the marinade in a medium-sized bowl by mixing 1/4 cup brown sugar, 4 teaspoons toasted sesame oil, 4 tablespoons mirin, 3 tablespoons honey, 1 blended Asian pear, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 6 cloves garlic, and 6 green onions.

2

Slice 3 pounds of ribeye thinly and add to 3/4 of the marinade. Marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature or overnight in the fridge.

3

In a separate bowl, mix 2 sliced green onions, juice of 1 lemon, 2 tablespoons gochujang, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, and 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil. Add 2 pounds of skinless pork belly and marinate for the same time.

4

Wash and soak rice, then cook in a rice cooker with a 1:1 water to rice ratio.

5

In a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil and 1 pound of baby potatoes. Sauté until golden brown and soft, then add 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon mirin, 2 tablespoons regular soy sauce, 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce, 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar, 2 teaspoons honey, and a splash of water. Simmer for 8-10 minutes until reduced and glazed.

6

Cut 1 seedless English cucumber into coins, salt them, let sit for 5 minutes, rinse, and mix with 2 tablespoons spicy chili crisp, lemon zest, and juice.

7

Prepare samjong sauce by mixing 1/2 cup gochujang, 1/3 cup honey, 3 tablespoons toasted sesame oil, 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, 3/4 cup doenjang, 4 sliced green onions, and 5 grated cloves of garlic.

8

Prepare sesame garlic sauce with 3 grated cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon flaky salt, and 1/4 cup toasted sesame oil.

9

Set up a tabletop grill or outdoor grill, heat to medium-high, and grill the marinated meats until cooked through, flipping often.
