1

Wash sela rice thoroughly and soak for 2 hours.

2

For jaggery syrup, mix 1 cup water with 500 grams crushed jaggery in a pan and cook for about 5 minutes until combined.

3

Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool down.

4

In a large open pot, bring enough water to a boil on high heat.

5

Once boiling, add the soaked sela rice and stir once, cooking on high flame for 8-10 minutes until fully cooked.

6

Drain the rice and set aside.

7

In the same pan, heat 3/4 cup ghee on medium-low heat, adding 7-8 green cardamom pods and the dry fruits, frying until golden.

8

Strain the jaggery syrup to remove any particles and add it to the pan, bringing it to a boil on high flame.

9

Add the boiled sela rice to the jaggery syrup and cook on high flame until the syrup dries up.
