1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1/2 block of butter
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
vegetable oil for frying
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

flour

🥗Healthier: whole wheat flour

Whole wheat flour adds more fiber and nutrients.

butter

🥗Healthier: coconut oil

Coconut oil is a healthier fat alternative.

1

In a saucepan, combine butter, flour, milk, water, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a semi boil over medium heat.

2

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and allow to cool slightly, then add the eggs. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a dough ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

3

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

4

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat to about 375°F (190°C).

5

Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, using kitchen scissors to cut the dough from the piping bag. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.

6

Fry the churros until golden brown and crisp, about 2-4 minutes per side, flipping halfway through.

7

Transfer the fried churros to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

8

In a shallow dish, mix together the remaining sugar and ground cinnamon.

9

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.

10

Serve the churros immediately while they're still warm and crispy.
