Preheat the oven.
In a pan, melt 1/4 cup of butter and add 3/4 cup of light brown sugar, stirring until combined.
Arrange the pineapple slices in the bottom of a bundt pan and pour the butter and sugar mixture over them.
In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the separated egg yolks, vanilla extract, and milk to the butter mixture, mixing well.
In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter.
Pour the batter over the pineapple slices in the bundt pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool before inverting onto a serving plate.
