Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

1 cup rolled oats
2 cups water or milk
1 medium apple, diced
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter or coconut oil (optional)

In a medium saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.

Add the rolled oats and salt to the boiling liquid.
