Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.

Roll out a small piece of dough into a circle and make a hole in the middle (optional).

Heat fat or oil until hot and bubbling.

Fry the dough pieces, ensuring the oil is hot to avoid absorption.

Flip the dough when golden brown on one side.

Remove from oil and drain on absorbent paper.

Sprinkle with sugar while still warm.
