Today, variations can be found globally, with each culture adding its unique twist to the classic burger.

Ground turkey is leaner, while ground pork can be more economical.
Combine 1 kilo of ground beef, 1/3 finely diced onion, 1 tablespoon flour, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon sea salt in a bowl.
Mix the ingredients together for a couple of minutes until well combined.
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour.
After 1 hour, shape the mixture into burgers of your desired thickness and size.
Preheat the barbecue and place the burgers on it.
Cook the burgers for about 3 minutes on one side, then turn them over.
After another couple of minutes, remove the burgers from direct heat.
Optionally, cook some onions on the side or place them on top of the burgers.
Add cheese on top of the burgers to melt, cooking for about 2 more minutes.
Place the burger rolls on the hot charcoal to heat through for about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn them.
Assemble the burger by spreading mayonnaise on the bun (optional), adding the burger patty, and topping with chili sauce, fresh tomato slices, and mixed lettuce.
