In a bowl, toss the apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch until well-coated.
Arrange the apple mixture in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
Fold the edges of the dough over the apples, pleating as necessary to create a rustic look.
Brush the dough with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar for a golden finish.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
