Rakvičky, or coffin cookies, are a traditional Czech dessert often made during festive occasions such as Halloween or All Saints' Day. These whimsical treats are shaped like coffins and are filled with sweet jam, representing a playful take on the theme of death. While they are deeply rooted in Czech culture, variations can be found in other Central European countries, showcasing the region's rich baking traditions.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract and milk until combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Fold in chopped almonds for added texture.
Spoon the batter into a greased coffin-shaped mold or cookie cutter.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow to cool in the mold for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Once cooled, spread a layer of jam on top of each cookie.
Melt dark chocolate and drizzle over the jam layer.
Dust with powdered sugar for decoration.
Serve with whipped cream on the side.
