Texas Sheet Cake

1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
1/4 cup milk (for frosting)
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease and flour a large sheet pan (approximately 18x13 inches).

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a saucepan, combine the butter and water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Pour the hot butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until smooth.
